Photo of the Jean Kittrell exhibit that took place in April 2018 on the first floor of Lovejoy Library at SIUE. The exhibit was designed by Therese Dickman and Doug Meyer. This photo shows the "Retirement and Legacy" panel in detail, highlighting Jean's 2008 retirement and Steve Lilley's subsequent article commemorating the event, the bands' continuation under new leadership of sousaphonist David "Red" Lehr and his wife Carolyn Lehr, and the 2003 dedication of the Central Illinois Jazz Festival to Jean. Also featured is a photograph of Jean from a St. Louis Jazz Club performance, an organization with whom Jean was personally connected, evidenced by the creation of a named scholarship from the club in her honor in 2009.
