              <text>This statue of Louis Armstrong, made of concrete with polychrome paint, was given to Jean Kittrell when and the other members of the St. Louis Rivermen went to Tokyo, Japan in August of 1995vto perform with Akira Tsumura and the Storyville Dandies Jazz Band. The other band members also received statues from Tsumura. In her photo elicitation interview, Kittrell recounts the difficulties she had bringing the statue back home, given its weight.</text>
