<text>Photo elicitation interview conducted on March 29, 2016 with Jean Kittrell, a jazz piano-vocalist, former Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) professor and chair of the Department of English, and long time resident of Edwardsville, Illinois. She is joined by sousaphonist, former band member and current leader of the Old St. Louis Levee Band, St. Louis Rivermen, and Powerhouse Five, David "Red" Lehr and his wife, Carolyn Lehr. The interview was conducted by Therese Dickman, Fine Arts Librarian at SIUE's Lovejoy Library, and anthropology undergraduate student Emily Warf. In the interview, Jean, Red, and Carolyn discuss the history of Jean's performing career, her life, and her bands, including the Jazz Incredibles, St. Louis Rivermen, and Old St. Louis Levee Band. Individuals in photos which hung in Jean's hallway are identified, and the significance of photographs is also discussed. The interview was conducted in two parts for recording purposes, and originally transcribed by Emily Warf. It was conducted in Jean's home in Edwardsville, Illinois.</text>
