The letters and personal papers of Edward Koch of Germantown, Illinois editor and publisher of The Guildsman, a Catholic periodical dedicated to the "principles of a Corporate Order" and "social reform" was the medium through which Koch presented his ideas. The corporate state, National Socialism, Germany, war, communism, fluoridation are among the many historical, economic, social, and religious subjects covered by articles in The Guildsman. With some exceptions (notably 1940) the collection of The Guildsman is complete from 1932-1946 with scattered issues thereafter. Few of Koch's letters are included but many letters from numerous correspondents concerning articles in The Guildsman, postal problems, Koch's family correspondence, business records and invoices for his printing business are available. Father Charles Coghlin, Otto Strasser, numerous Catholic leaders are among the correspondents.
