Colonel Benjamin Stephenson was one of the founding fathers of the City of Edwardsville and played an important role in the establishment of Illinois at the 21st state in the nation. Stephenson's home in Edwardsville, Illinois is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been authentically restored. The Stephenson House is a center for hands-on learning about life in Madison County in the early 19th century. This collection contains the records of the Friends of Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House, including their efforts to renovate the property, committee files, grants, board minutes and agendas, and miscellaneous materials regarding the activities of the Friends.
