Joyce Carol Oates, an author twice nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature, visited Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on September 5, 1996. She gave a lecture titled "Conversations from the Heart" in Meridian Hall of the University Center at 7:30 pm.
