Joycelyn Elders, a pediatric endocrinologist and the first African-American U.S. Surgeon General, visited Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on January 30, 1997. She gave a lecture titled "The Keys to a Healthy Life" in Meridian Hall of the University Center at 7:30 pm.
