Ken Burns, America's most celebrated documentary filmmaker visited Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on April 20, 2011. He gave a lecture titled "The Civil War" at 7:30 pm. His visit was sponsored by the SIUE Foundation, the SIUE Graduate School, and the St. Clair County Regional Office of Education through a federally funded Teaching American History Grant.
